I joined the KOMU-TV8 news team in August, 2010 as a production assistant. Here, I exercised proficiency with Avid Newscutter software in a professional newsroom environment, and trained other journalists to edit video.
Through the Missouri School of Journalism’s Convergence Journalism program, I worked with another reporter, Samantha Sunne, to tell a story illustrating the various ways a hay shortage has affected farmers in mid-Missouri. I crafted the story’s video; Samantha took photos and created interactive content for KOMU’s website.
I have also anchored short news segments, such as the one below, which aired intermittently between the TODAY show.
